Let's get vertical - using Vertical space

You'll often find me saying to my clients in their homes, "let's find a way to use vertical space!"

I personally love bookshelves... they can hold decorative items, books (duh), and plethoras of storage bins and baskets from toys to filing boxes, to - well, you name it! And they can look good in any room of the house.

Another storage option - especially for those with smaller homes struggling to find space is the back of a door. There are SO many options out there for over the door organizers. If you have tall doors or hate the look of the hook from the other side, never fear - you can install right onto the door. These come in handy for shoes or beanie baby collections in the bedroom, bathroom items, spices in the kitchen, and all the misc items a hall closet can collect.

Another favorite place I like to organize is the wall! Sometimes you can set up an entire center just on a blank wall. This is especially helpful for a family command center - calendar, hooks for keys, mail slots, etc. All you need is to measure your wall space and purchase some fun wall files, hooks and organizers made to wall mount.
